Synodical process

Pope has invited us to engage in a synodical process whereby we can reflect upon certain questions and send our own thoughts back to Rome via the diocese. Over the next few weeks I shall be posting the questions on the Parish web page. To assist in this process we need a volunteer who is computer literate to help coordinate the process and other volunteers who are willing to visit folks who do not have access to a computer and help them with the form. The form must be filled in online. After Christmas there will be 2 computer terminals available in the parish so people can arrange an appointment and access them.

The ten questions are to be considered by parishioners as the Diocese embarks on the Synodal Pathway are:

1 How welcoming is our parish?

2 How good are we at listening?

3 How good are we at communicating?

4 How well does the Church’s liturgy inspire a deeper encounter with the Risen Lord?

5 How well do I understand and participate in the mission of the Church?

6 How well do we engage with the wider world?

7 How good is our relationship with other Christian traditions?

8 How well do we work as a team in our parish?

9 How open are we to the will of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit?

10 How well do we hand on the faith?

Christmas Message

Following on from the recent Churches Together meeting I would like to propose Wednesday 8th December as the day I will record a variety of people from a variety of backgrounds & churches (hopefully). Between 2pm-3pm or 7:30pm-8:30pm.

The idea is for the person to look at the camera and simply say: “The best thing about Christmas for me is.....” followed by a simple sentence (not a full-blown sermon). So for example: “The best thing about Christmas for me is looking at the Christmas lights” or “The best thing about Christmas for me is spending time with family and friends”.And I would like everyone involved to also say ‘Merry Christmas’ as a separate clip as an individual, not as a big group.
