Is the Sacrament conferred by the Bishop on either DEACONS or PRIESTS. After a period of preparation (sometimes six or seven years) a man will be called and chosen by the Church and, through the power of the Holy Spirit with the LAYING ON OF HANDS AND PRAYER will be ordained for the Ministry for leading others by a life of prayer, celebrating the Sacraments and proclaiming the Gospel. Deacons have their own ministry unlike priests but both orders are of SERVICE.

The Bishop is always pleased to hear from young men who are discerning their vocation in life and the Parish Priest will be able to help you in this regard and there are experienced priests in the Diocese who will be glad to speak with you about vocation and what it means.
